VARSITY
Newport Harbor 13 – Palos Verdes 7

PVHS opened scoring with an early goal, but the offensive sails caught the wind for NHHS, as the team ripped the next six and took home the victory with a final score of 13-7. Senior captain Alex Palmer lit the scoreboard five times and sophomore Brittany McCoy had a breakout game with four emphatic goals of her own. Palmer also racked five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and a draw control. Defensive specialists Mia Bagiu and Allana Rockwell stood firm against the Sea King attack and each added a goal of her own to the Sailor tally. After a 12-5 loss to PVHS in 2013, the victory was especially sweet for the NHHS program, which is off to its first ever 3-0 start.
