Game #7

The Sailors score 13 goals in a victory over the Valencia Vikings on 3/16. See below for a recap from Head Coach, Mackenzie Miller.

I couldn’t be prouder of our recent performance against the Valencia Vikings. Our victory wasn’t just about the final score; it was a testament to the dedication and teamwork displayed by each and every player on the field. Our success started with the commitment to strong defense, which shut down the Vikings’ offensive plays when we needed to the most. Our ability to capitalize on offensive opportunities showcased the hard work and skills that our players have been focusing on during practice. Every player stepped onto the field with a selfless mindset, prioritizing the success of the team above individual glory. Moving forward, we will build upon this victory, using it as motivation to continue pushing ourselves to our team goals. With determination, perseverance, and a strong sense of camaraderie, I have no doubt that we will achieve even greater success in the games to come.

Game #3 Recap

The Sailors fell to the Eagles at a home match up on Saturday 3/2. See below for a recap from the Head Coach, Mackenzie Miller.

In a closely contested matchup with Chaminade Eagles, both teams showcased their offensive skillset, firing off a total of 32 shots each. Despite our dominance in creating scoring opportunities, we struggled to convert them into goals, managing to capitalize on only 10 of our chances.

We showed a relentless attacking style, consistently pressuring the Chaminade defense and generating numerous scoring opportunities. However, our efforts were met with resistance from the Eagles’ defensive unit, which stood firm. Throughout the game, our offensive players displayed impressive skill and creativity, creating space and generating quality scoring chances through slick passing and agile movement. Despite our efforts, we found ourselves stopped by the outstanding performance of the Chaminade goalkeeper, who made a series of crucial saves to keep her team in the contest.

Despite the frustration of not capitalizing on more of our scoring chances, We can take pride in a very strong defensive performance and our ability to consistently create opportunities against a tough Chaminade defense. As we continue our season, we will look to sharpen finishing at net front and converting a higher percentage of chances to secure victories in future matchups.
